Further Information

The course is structured over 8 weekly classes of 2 hours. It is an experiential, practice-based course that from the very first class focuses on putting your health and wellbeing at the forefront of your awareness and on learning transferable skills. Between classes, you are invited and encouraged to put into practice the skills that you have learned in class into a variety of settings. You are also invited to engage with a daily meditation practice.

The classes are informal and friendly. In weeks 1 to 3 of the course, we will learn and practice attentiveness, focus, and awareness. In weeks 3 to 5, we deepen our practice and explore insight and clearer seeing that grow out of concentration skills that we have been practicing in the previous classes. In weeks 6 to 8, we explore ways of incorporating mindfulness into our day-to-day lives beyond the 8-week course.

Nearing the end of the course there is a full day of mindfulness meditation practice that takes place on a Saturday. The full day gives us an opportunity to be with ourselves, to deepen our practice while sharing and experiencing the collective energy and support of the mindfulness group. It is a chance to retreat from the busyness and demands of daily life while providing options to connect with nature and the surrounding countryside.

All classes take place in a private, warm, peaceful and spacious meditation studio. Yoga mats, chairs, meditation stools, cushions, and foot blocks are provided.
